In December of 2020, the Maine Climate Council, in conjunction with Gov. Janet Mills, outlined a plan to take immediate action against the harmful effects of human-created carbon emissions. This plan will put Maine on a trajectory to decrease greenhouse gas emissions by 45% by 2030 and 80% by 2050, and achieve carbon neutrality by 2045, creating 30,000+ jobs in renewable energy and efficiency.
