We’ve had a couple of Hey, do you ever work on community buildings? calls lately.
The answer: You bet!

This week we’re working at the Adas Yoshuron Synagogue in Rockland, Maine. Building committee members approached Energy Advisor Jessie Davis in March because they’d much rather focus on worship than on how to pay the oil bill – and Jessie engineered a project that would let the congregation do just that.

It’s an interesting story, one with multiple decision-makers, strict scheduling requirements, and a few surprises along the way. Jessie worked with the Board to develop a plan that met all the Synagogue’s needs – from insulation and air sealing to budget planning and community support. The ending is happily familiar: a more comfortable, energy-efficient, community building.

The logistics of working with an organization are different than those of working with individual homeowners. It’s a process we understand and enjoy because the rewards affect so many people.
