Encore! Another Women’s Evening of All Things Home Energy

Back to Blog

Once again, we’re teaming up with ReVision Energy and the Natural Resources Council of Maine for a women’s evening of questions and conversation about heating systems, fuel choices, energy efficiency, solar power, state energy policy, and more. Join us at Peapod Jewelry on March 24, 5:30 pm for an energizing discussion, led for woman, by women. Space is limited, so please register by calling Jennifer Albee at 589-4171, or email jalbee@revisionenergy.com.

“Women are deeply invested in how their homes work,” says Albee, Revision’s Customer Relations Manager. “We have great questions that don’t always get asked and insights that aren’t always heard. This night is about changing that.”

Women’s Energy Night is part of a growing movement that includes Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build program and Ladies’ Nights at hardware stores across the country. This year, jewelry artist Ronna Lugosch will host the gathering at her Peapod Jewelry Gallery (40 US Rte. 1, Edgecomb), and one of her signature “pea in a pod” necklaces will be offered as a door prize. There will be presentations, with ample time for conversation and questions, along with light refreshments

“Balancing home energy decisions can be a real challenge,” says Kathleen Meil, Evergreen’s Marketing & Customer Relations Manager. “Understanding the factors that go into those decisions – from mechanical systems and fuel choices, to options for improved comfort and efficiency, to the basics of statewide energy policy – is key to making them confidently.”

The evening will begin with home energy basics, including heating systems, hot water generation, and fuel choices. Once participants understand how they power their homes, the group will explore ways to manage home comfort and energy expenses with efficiency and renewable energy, and get an energy policy update from the Natural Resources Council of Maine’s Clean Energy Advocate, Emmie Theberge.

Other presenters include Kathleen Meil and Elise Brown from Evergreen Home Performance, a statewide leader in energy efficiency and provider of energy audits and insulation contracting; and Jennifer Albee from ReVision Energy, the most experienced renewable energy company in northern New England and a provider of custom-engineered solar hot water and solar electricity for homes, businesses, schools, and non-profits. The folks at Evergreen did a great job fixing a rather major insulation problem in my house, which they helped identify with a great audit. When the work began, they were thorough, upbeat, and -- dare I say it -- efficient. I strongly recommend them.

Working with Brian and with Nate and the rest of the crew was a pleasure. They made everything very easy and understandable. This was a major renovation and they were always at the ready with a lot of information. We had an extensive renovation on the basement which was a dirt basement and it came out beautifully. We can already tell from all of the insulation work what a difference it's made in sound and temperature. Brian worked with me on the rebates that are available when you do this kind of work. I would highly recommend this company to…

Evergreen did everything they said they would and more. I actually don't mind going into the basement now since they sealed it. The air quality in the house is noticeably better and it's warmer in the winter. We can even store clothing down there where before, whatever was in there would mildew. Even the spider population declined! I used to vacuum so many of them from the corners of the ceilings in the house. Not any more!

I was very impressed by the professionalism of this company and the workers. Brian R. was very prompt in replying to my questions; the crew was meticulous in all parts of the work and attentive to the safety aspects concerning Covid; and Brian was extremely thorough in the final inspection. My attic is now snug and warm and I've noticed that the second floor is warmer as well.

The Evergreen Team did a fabulous job and was very tuned and responsive to the particular needs we had. The job was done right on budget and we are thrilled with the improved warmth and energy efficiency.

Our house still the most efficient home we’ve ever lived in. And we have you folks to thank for that! A special howdy to Brian Robinson please!

My experience with Evergreen was excellent. From their thorough and thoughtful initial consultation to their detailed post-work visit, the team was professional, knowledgeable, and responsive. Their workmanship was top notch. Our home is now much warmer and more efficient. I highly recommend their services!

Professional, friendly and hard-working staff. The product/approach they use for insulation is top notch. We felt the difference immediately, both from added warmth and eliminating drafts. The team and management were easily available to answer our questions or coordinate meeting times. Highly recommended.

The Evergreen team was amazing from initial assessment and planning to the crew that came to complete the work. Our basement encapsulation is the best money we've spent on our house by far. The work was thorough and high quality. And what a wonderful group of people to work with. I highly recommend Evergreen!

From beginning to end – that is from the moment Justin McEdward stepped into our home to assess our energy conservation needs until the crew left – the Evergreen Home Performance process went absolutely smoothly. Justin made a thorough inspection and took pictures with an infrared camera. His proposal described the scope of work in detail, and he explained what we could expect the proposed work to accomplish. Our proposal was forthcoming within a couple of days, and Justin was available to discuss it and answer questions.

Adrienne Harkavy

I cannot say enough great things about working with Evergreen Home Performance. Everything including the initial consultation, the fabulous work crew, the office support and the final resolution was handled in a caring and professional manner. My only regret is that I did not know about them earlier. I enthusiastically recommend Evergreen to anyone with concerns about home energy use.

In the final stages of selling our home, and with a closing date set, an inspection came across an unanticipated issue in our attic. We quickly called in contractors, but nobody was able to identify the source of the problem. Then we thought of Evergreen. Brian Robinson was on site the next morning and immediately identified the source (a faulty roofing job completed three years earlier which had effectively sealed up portions of the ridge vent and restricted air flow - not easily visible with a quick inspection).

Evergreen did a fantastic job insulating our 1930's home. The onsite team was professional, clean, and really just a joy to interact with throughout the process. A blower test at the end showed a significant decrease in air leakage. I highly recommend Evergreen.

Evergreen has insulated two homes that we've owned now and both times we experienced exceptional service and craftsmanship. Our rep, Justin, went above and beyond answering questions and the installation team was attentive to every detail, including pulling out old poorly installed insulation and redoing a bathroom fan that wasn't up to current code. They also left the place spotless every day! Our home is already so much warmer this fall and we are looking forward to using less oil this winter.

We initially contacted Evergreen through Efficiency Maine for an energy audit, which was conducted promptly and professionally by Justin McEdward, one of their Energy Advisors who is BPI-certified. After a thorough inspection of our newly purchased home, Justin explained in great detail what we needed and did not need. It was agreed that Evergreen would remove all of the existing attic insulation, which was not adequate, and replace it with blown in cellulose, to a rating of R-60.
